Abstract

In this research, the level of inclusion of basic movement skills and space perception skills required for orienteering, which is developing as a current sport, in the 2018 Physical Education and Social Studies Curriculum was discussed. While the Physical Education Curriculum was evaluated in terms of basic movement skills, the ability to perceive space was examined in the Social Studies Curriculum. According to the data obtained, it was concluded that the 2018 Physical Education Curriculum included many elements regarding the basic movement skills required for orienteering. It was concluded that the 2018 Social Studies Curriculum, which was evaluated in terms of the ability to perceive space, included elements related to the ability to perceive space in terms of purpose, skill, learning area and achievements.
