Abstract

People have to be healthy in order to survive. They do this by avoiding factors such as irregular diet, sedentary life and stress. The aim of this study is to contribute to a healthy life in the future by examining the healthy lifestyle behaviors of individuals who do sports irregularly. The group of this research consists of 289 (165 female, 124 male) volunteer individuals who do irregular sports in the province of Elazig. In collecting data; “Personal Information Form” and “Healthy Life Skills Scale” were used to determine the healthy living levels of individuals. Results; It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the sub-dimensions of healthy lifestyle behaviors, self-actualization, nutrition and interpersonal support in terms of total score of healthy lifestyle behaviors according to gender in individuals who do sports irregularly, while the values of individuals who do active sports are higher than those who do not do sports. average scores were found to be high. It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the total score of healthy lifestyle behaviors and sub-dimensions of the scale in the variables of education level and weekly sports activity. In conclusion; While it was determined that the average score of men who do sports irregularly is higher than women, individuals who do active sports than individuals who do not do sports, and individuals who engage in team sports are higher than those who do sports, it is thought that it is important to inform the next generations about their healthy lifestyle behaviors by providing information about the healthy lifestyle behaviors of individuals.
