The physical, social and psychological benefits of regular physical activity are well known. However, the negative effects of COVID-19 are seen in society not only on physical health but also on subjective well-being. Sudden changes in social life, curfews and the transition to online education have had a negative impact on many people, especially university students. In this study, physical activity levels and subjective fitness status of university students were examined according to selected variables. A total of 142 university students, 52 males and 90 females, were included in the study. International physical activity questionnaire short form and subjective fitness scale were used as measurement tools. As a result, it was determined that there was no relationship between physical activity level and subjective fitness level. In addition, in pairwise comparison tests, it was found that the subjective well-being scores of males differed statistically significantly from females and participants over 23 years of age differed statistically significantly from participants 22 years of age and younger. It was found that there was no significant difference in the subjective well-being and physical activity levels of the participants according to the variable of getting COVID-19 and preferred sports environment. The findings of the study can help experts, universities, and students to determine effective strategies to protect and improve mental and physical health.
