As the popularity of mobile games continues to ascend, particularly within the realm of online multiplayer Battle-Royale games, a substantial audience is being engaged. Nonetheless, a pronounced gender disparity is observed in the representation within this genre. This study is predicated upon the analysis of promotional videos and in-game experiences available in mobile application stores. The scrutiny of promotional videos and in-game character options has yielded findings indicative of gender inequality in character selection within mobile games. For the purposes of this research, four games and 38 images from these games were incorporated into the study. In this research, which adopts the content analysis method, it has been observed that in mobile Battle-Royale games, male characters are preferred more frequently than female characters, and male characters are more prominently featured among the available character options. This inequity extends to in-game experiences as well, where male characters are presented as more dominant and with a greater diversity of options. These findings suggest that the decisions made regarding gender representation and the approaches taken by game developers towards character diversity perpetuate gender inequality. This research underscores the necessity for heightened awareness and a more balanced distribution concerning gender representation and character selection within the mobile gaming industry. Additionally, adopting a more gender-sensitive and equitable approach by players can ensure that gaming experiences are more inclusive and fair. At this point, understanding gender inequality in mobile games from an academic perspective is of significant importance.
