Abstract

As a result of inactivity, it is very important to encourage and support physical activity. The increase in health problems has a great influence on the shaping of physical education and sport teaching programmes. It is important that individuals and society have sufficient knowledge, motivation and skills to increase and popularise participation in physical activity. In this context, participation in physical activity is measured using the concept of physical literacy and individuals' knowledge, skills and motivation about physical activity are evaluated. Physical education teachers play a key role in the development, correct understanding and implementation of physical literacy. The role of physical education in education is to ensure the physical development of students. The objectives of the physical education curriculum focus on physical, cognitive and affective domains. Schools, and in particular physical education at school, should support the development of students' physical literacy by providing equal opportunities for them to develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to acquire physical literacy. The development of physical literacy in physical education should not ignore the development of physical literacy in the sport system. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between physical activity level and physical education teachers' perceptions of movement literacy in a general and conceptual framework. In this context, the content of the concepts of physical education and sport, physical activity and physical literacy was tried to be compiled. Information was collected through a combination of literature reviews and information obtained from websites.
