Physical Activity of Hospital Employees Investigation of Levels (Giresun Sample)

Thanks to the developments in technology, information Technologies have become the focal point of every stage of life day by day. Technological developments have brought about a new process of change by showing its effect in many areas from people's lives to their habits. In that context, new habits or obligations of people can be mentioned in almost every field from daily life to business life. The health sector, which is the most important indicator of the service sector, has to follow the technological developments closely due to its nature. Therefore, the main aim of this study is to investigate whether the physical activity levels of health workers are sufficient or not. This research, which was carried out in three different health institutions in Giresun, was prepared in the scanning model. In the research, data were collected by applying a questionnaire to the employees in health institutions between August and December 2021. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS (22.0) package program. The frequency and percentages of the answers given by the health workers to the questions were determined. Chi-square analysis was used to determine whether the descriptive characteristics of the participants differ according to the duration and level of physical activity. As a result of the analyzes made, it was determined that the heavy physical activity and moderate physical activity of the health care workers were insufficient, while their walking activities was found to be at a relatively sufficient level. Although most of the health workers work sitting down, it was determined that their walking activities were at an acceptable level.It has been determined that there is no difference in the heavy physical activity of the health workers according to the different institutions they work in, but there is a difference between the levels of walking activities. It has been observed that among those who do moderate physical activity, the household chores of the participants differ according to gender and the majority of them are women.
